Therapeutic Massage
Each type of massage is designed to relieve a specific pain, whether from a sports injury, an automobile accident, a work injury or from other common conditions that effect the musculoskeletal system. We offer a number of different massage therapies, including:
Aromatherapy
This treatement is an ancient form of therapy that uses topical oils and aromatic compounds to positively adjust a person’s cognitive function, health, mind or mood. This treatment is used in conjunction with the Swedish massage.
Chair Therapy
Fully-clothed patients are seated while the licensed therapist provides a Swedish massage. This type of massage is generally provided at local races (runs) or at gyms and schools.
Neuromuscular
This therapy is most commonly used on sports injuries, patients in rehabilitation or pain management programs. By focusing on trigger points, soft tissue pain relief and restored physically debilitated muscles are the results of this therapy. Often nutrition, posture and stress are focal points in relieving tension.

Dr. Renee Edelen
Dr. Renee L. Edelen is a December 2014 graduate from Logan College of Chiropractic at Logan University located in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Prior to attending Logan University, Dr. Renee completed her undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville focusing on pre-medical sciences.
As a student at Logan, Dr. Renee excelled academically and was awarded to the Dean’s List. Dr. Renee interned at 79 Crossing Health Center in St. Peter’s, Missouri where she learned how to effectively diagnose and treat patients suffering from a variety of musculoskeletal conditions while perfecting her manual adjusting techniques. In addition, Dr. Renee volunteered as an intern at the St. Louis Veteran’s Administration Medical Center and St. Patrick’s Center where she provided quality chiropractic care for veterans and those less fortunate in the community.
In her spare time, Dr. Renee loves spending time with her two dogs, Chunk and Duke, whom she considers her children. They enjoy going on hikes, walks and, of course, car rides.

Krisi is the office manager of Core Physical Medicine. She has been working in the healthcare industry for over three years. She graduated from the Body Therapy Center for Massage in Swansea, IL. In her spare time, she loves hiking and being adventurous with her boyfriend and their two dogs. She dreams one day to be a yoga instructor and help people along the way.

Kristin is the assistant manager of Core Physical Medicine. She graduated from UMSL in 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Science and has been in the healthcare field for 8 years. She currently resides in Godfrey with her daughter. She enjoys time with her family, anything outdoors and watching baseball and hockey.

Swedish Massage
This therapy includes kneading motions, friction, vibration, and percussion techniques. In addition, specialized relaxing agents, such as lotions, are utilized to relax the stressed muscles.
Deep Tissue
This procedure is a connective tissue restoring therapy is provided by a licensed therapist who uses a variety of hands-on techniques. People experiencing extremely tight, painful, or strained muscles find pain relief and flexibility are renewed with this therapy.
Sports Massage
Sports Massage is designed to enhance the performance of athletes, while preventing and treating musculoskeletal injuries. You do not have to be an athlete to have a Sports Massage, as this treatment is designed for any person participating in physical activities.
What to Expect after your Massage
After the initial massage therapy, patients experience a relief in aches, pains, and stress. This therapy has the tendency to leave patients so relaxed that a slight grogginess settles in, but this is temporary, as a boost in energy follows. Soreness and dehydration are common twenty-four hours following the treatment. Be sure to stay hydrated and try ice and a warm bath to relieve any soreness.
